Director Kannan last had a release in 2017, with the Gautam Karthik, Shraddha Srinath and RJ Balaji starrer Ivan Thanthiran, following which he had begun his next, Boomerang starring Atharva Murali in lead role, and the movie was supposed to release in 2018 itself.

After having missed dates in December due to the clash of more than 5 films, the movie has now locked a new release date. Boomerang has been officially announced to release worldwide on March 1. The movie reportedly deals with a social issue, and Atharva will be seen in two different looks.

Boomerang also stars Megha Akash as the female lead, besides RJ Balaji and Meyaadha Maan fame Indhuja in pivotal roles, and the movie produced by Kannan himself in his Masala Pix banner has music by Radhan (Tollywood hit Arjun Reddy fame).
