With a title of 80's featuring Shanker and Gayathri `Auto Raja' of today is passable and at places it is attractive to the family audience. The ground work on the script deserved to be better from Udaya Prakash. The time and energy he has spent on keeping his film in circulation is spent on the script and gripping narration it could have been a better film. The film falls flat in the first half. There was chance to uplift the film with good ideas dropping in. That does not happen with usual turns in the last half an hour of the film. The film picks up to some extent only in the second half. When turn of events is more director Udaya Prakash has not shown his great degree of skill. With three main characters and public attached to the developments the curiosity never carries. The film reminds of a few of Kannada films in bits and pieces. Auto Raja (Ganesh) is hardcore fan of Shanker Nag - legendary actor and director with progressive thoughts to society who died 23 years ago. Living on the principles and shadow of the torchbearer Shanker Nag the protagonist brings some awareness among the auto rickshaw drivers. In the first half the protagonist falls in love with innocent girl Radha who disclose as Rani (on the advice of her grandmother she keeps a different name in city). Rani is having only one intention of becoming a actress in Kannada cinema. Auto Raja on the other hand gets another assignment of radio jockey in his life. He flourishes in it. The RJ chief Deepika Kamaiah wants his name to be a secret as the program is super hit. The curiosity among the public is that who the guy is speaking like Shanker Nag. Rani fed up of the system in cinema goes back. On the way she changes her mind. For that radio jockey Auto Raja is responsible. Rani alias Radha becomes a big actress from `Amoolya' Kannada cinema. She is waiting to meet the RJ who changed her life. There a few more developments once the RJ Shanker Nag is revealed to the public and Rani now an actress is the chief guest of the function. The expected RJ that is Auto Raja does not turn up because he has another big assignment that is bothering the society. He has another secret lover RJ Chief Deepa Kamaiah. What happens in the climax? You can watch this passable film. Golden star Ganesh should concentrate more on dialogue oriented sweet cinemas. Action does not suit him. He has not got his share in this film. Bhama is not only pretty but emoted well. Deepika Kamaiah in one of her a few scenes steals the show. Arjun Janya does not disappoint in two tunes. Manjunath Nayak has given the right color required for the frames. Score - 5/10
