Ayushmann Khurrana gets nostalgic on World Theatre Day

Anyone who knows Ayushmann Khurrana would agree that he is really passionate about what he does and his unique and vivid filmography is testament to that. Known as the poster boy of content driven cinema, Ayushmann was actively involved with theatre groups and drama societies during his college days. On the ocassion of World Theatre Day this Sunday, Ayushmann looked back at the time when he used to act in dramas and street plays and how it affected him.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor said, "My tryst with acting started with street theatre and it made me hugely confident about the fact that I could entertain people with my skills. Street theatre actually set my foundation to become a fearless performer. I became not afraid to take risks and I’m hugely grateful for this because it has shaped who I have become today."

Talking about his perception of theatre and what he learnt from it, Ayushmann said, "Theatre, to me, can be introspective, critical about society and what we are becoming and also serve as a gateway to fantasize about a world that doesn’t exist. I have learnt so much from theatre because it challenges you to push your boundaries so that you can entertain and engage with audiences in a much deeper and interactive manner. I have taken my learnings from doing theatre and tried to emulate them for my on-screen performances and choice of scripts."

On the work front, Ayushmann has an interesting line-up of upcoming films which include 'Anek', 'An Action Hero' and 'Doctor G'.
