Ayushmann Khurrana knows how cinema can get back on track

The pandemic has caused some big changes in the entertainment industry. After movie theaters went out of business, OTT platforms became the mainstream source of entertainment. When things go back to normal, bringing people back and maintaining a coexistence with OTTs is going to be a tough task for film industry. However, actor Ayushmann Khurrana knows how this can be achieved.

He believes that cliche and formulaic movies cannot work in today's world. Filmmakers need to get experimental. He said, "Cinema will provide them with that option but we will have to produce the best content that we have ever produced. People will want to be entertained with films that celebrate new ideas. The scale of the film will be immaterial because the content will take precedence in a whole new world.”

In present day, people have access to quality content from all over the world. So the competition faced by filmmakers is essentially on global level. Ayushmann says, "People have already been exposed to brilliant content from across the world. So, for them to step out to a theatre to watch a film they need a huge incentive and content will play this crucial role. People will want to watch brilliant films. So, let’s all aim to provide audiences with that and successfully restart our industry and the exhibition sector.”
