Sticking as much as possible to realism director Ratha Mohan has woven an interesting story of four friends who are strugglers looking for a break. Coupled with this is a story of romance.

Prasanna and three of his friends are strugglers eking out a living in the filmdom. A friend comes with a request to bail out Navya Nair daughter of a rich father (Pyramid Natarajan) from a marriage she does not like. Prasanna poses as her lover and dissuades the prospective bridegroom Prakash Raj from the marriage. Prakash Raj takes a liking to Prasanna and takes the initiative to get them married. Unable to wriggle out of the marriage the two strangers are forced to live under one roof. Slowly they develop a friendship, which soon turns to love for Prasanna while Navya still treats him as only a friend. Prasanna gets an offer to turn director and Navya gets a job in Bangalore. Will Prasanna be successful in his love or not forms the climax

The film is different from others for its realistic potrayal of the life of strugglers. Prasanna and his friends (artistes from Koothpatarai theatre) give a very natural performance. Navya Nair's debut performance is impressive. Prakash Raj in the cameo role steals the show. Music by Ramesh Vinayakam is melodious and catchy. The climax is the only weak link in the film since it's too cliched.
