The trailer of 'Bakasuran' directed by Mohan G and starring Selvaraghavan and Natty Natraj in the lead roles has just been released. The clip shows Selva in an intense role of a father of a young girl turned vigilante against sexual predators.

Mohan G known for such caste based films as 'Draupadi' and 'Rudhra Thandavam' has this time chosen to tackle criminals who turn innocent women into sex workers. Natty Natraj plays a cop hot on the trails of the vigilante.

It is clear from the trailer that Selvaraghavan is playing a character who takes revenge on a gang that cheats women. Similarly, Nataraj is fighting on the other side to make the gang stand up to the law. It is expected that the story of this film will be whether these two will join. The most noticeable aspect in this trailer is that the director has moved from his far right wing leanings to a drastic left. Radha Ravi playing a politician in his speech says that women who have extramarital relationships should not be branded as adultresses and acknowledge the affair as another form of pure love.

The dialogues seem to the highlight of 'Bakasuran' as there is a parallel cut of a woman advicing a young girl to use her body to earn just like how men use their brains. Selvaraghavan's character advices a girl not to give up her chastity and fight for her survival till the last breath. On the whole the trailer grabs attention with the powerful presence of the two leads and the suggestion of contemporary issues such as the suicide of girl students in schools etc.

Sam CS has composed the music 'Bakasuran' which stars Selvaraghavan, Natty Natraj, Radharavi, Devadarshini, P.L.Thenappan and Manzoor Ali Khan among others. The film is expected to release soon in theaters.
