Bharathiraja, Seeman, Ameer and others arrested for IPL protest

Directors Bharathiraja, Seeman, Ameer, Thangar Bachan, actor Karunaas MLA and other film personalities engaged in road rokos in the Anna Salai area were arrested by the police and taken away in vans. There are also reports that director Vettrimaran was injured in a cop attack during the widespread protests against the IPL to gain National attention for the Cauvery Management Board and Sterlite issues.
The Chepauk stadium has been surrounded by protesters as the situation has escalated with just another hour to go for the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkotta Knight Riders. Both the teams have safely arrived at the stadium and security has been beefed up inside and outside.
