Rajith Kumar absconds, Police raids his homes

A total of thirteen out of seventy-nine people have been arrested in connection with the controversial TV show contestant Rajith Kumar's rousing reception at Kochi airport, where heavy restrictions were imposed in the wake of corona fear. Meanwhile, the main accused in the case, Rajith Kumar, remains absconding. Reportedly, the Police raided his homes in Aluva and Attingal, but he is nowhere to be found.

The case was booked against Rajith and 78 other people, for gathering at Cochin international airport to receive Rajith Kumar who returned from the popular channel show Bigg Boss Malayalam season two. The case was registered under sections 143, 147, 149, 188 and 283 of IPC. They were also charged with violating the High Court's order not to hold demonstrations or march within 500 meters of the airport.

As reported earlier, Ernakulam district collector and minister Kadakampally Surendran had strongly criticized the move. There are several videos on social media of fans welcoming Rajith at the Kochi airport. Hundreds of fans including women and children came down to the airport on Sunday midnight to welcome their favorite contestant.

Rajith Kumar is a controversial public speaker, who was a popular contestant in the popular reality show Bigg Boss season 2. Rajith was recently expelled from the reality show for physically attacking a female co-contestant by applying chili on her eyes.
