Billie Eilish has officially announced details on her third full-length album, "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT," out May 17th. Eilish, full of excitement, went on social media with emojis and shared the album cover, showing her underwater swimming towards an open white door. She said, "I'm just so nervous and excited." She was really laying much emphasis on the whole idea of delivering an album as a whole piece and not in pieces with singles.

The announcement came with a press release that included a new underwater photo of Eilish and further details about the album's title and theme.

Describing it as an odyssey of feeling, "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT" takes listeners from one sound territory to another without staying too clean into a category of some kind of style or fashion. Eilish's brother and collaborator produced the record in an effort to further display her expertise in songwriting.

The album will be released worldwide on all online platforms, but with a physical format showing her commitment to sustainability, as the discs will be made from 100% recyclable materials.

The commitment Billie has to being environmentally conscious, in terms of waste and a way to fight climate change in the production of the album, is evident. In the lead-up to the album, Eilish used the billboards in a playful build-up to complete ones, which included snippets of lyrics and her signature "blohsh" symbol, in major cities across the globe.

An intricate awards push has engulfed Eilish and Finneas for their song from the "Barbie" movie. "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT" represents the return of Eilish and Finneas to the album-release space since their release in 2021, "Happily Ever After.
