Actress Ananya Panday made her debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 in 2019. She earned more fame after appearing in the movies Pati, Patni Aur Woh and Khaali Peeli.

Although she has been mercilessly trolled over the nepotism debate in Bollywood in the last couple of years, Ananya Panday maintained her cool and appeared confident in most occasions. The actress has now opened up about being bodyshamed in the past and how it affected her self-confidence as a young adult. Ananya Panday was quoted as saying, "I don't remember the exact time but I remember there used to be pictures of me with my parents. At that time, I wasn't an actor. I would go out with my parents and as I said, I was very thin. People used say I look like a boy, flat screen. At that time it did hurt because those are the years where you are forming your self confidence. You are learning to love yourself and someone else is pulling you down then you really start doubting yourself."

The 22-year-old added, "Now, slowly I am reaching a point where I am focusing on accepting myself. If that is sorted and that is my foundation then nothing can hurt me since I am at peace with myself and I love myself. I am not saying it has happened. It is an ongoing process but I feel this realisation is more important than what anyone else."
