The grand pre-release event of 'Brahmastra', which was supposed to take place at Ramoji Film City on Friday evening, got cancelled at the last minute. The organizers stated that the event had to be cancelled at RFC due to unforeseen circumstances.

The buzz is that police permissions were cancelled for unknown reasons. Thousands of fans of the movie and Jr NTR, the chief guest, were looking forward to making merry at the venue.

Instead of a grand event, it is now going to be a humble press meet at a star hotel in Hyderabad. It will be interesting to see what Tarak and SS Rajamouli, the film's presenter, is going to say about the cancellation.

Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and others, 'Brahmastra' hits the screens on Sept 9.
