Last night we got the tragic news of the untimely demise of National award winning actor, singer and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Mani. He died in a private hospital in Kochi where he was reportedly admitted on Friday for a liver related ailment.

If this was not enough for the film fraternity here comes another shocker from the deceased actor's brother Ramakrishnan who has filed a complaint to the Chalakudy police doubting that his brother could have been murdered with a poisonous substance in the hospital.

Based on the complaint raised by Ramakrishnan and the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the veteran actor, the police have registered an FIR under Section 174 CrPc and booked a case of Unnatural Death.

The mortal remains of Mani has been shifted to the Government Medical College at Thrissur for the postmortem and the police will probe further after the medical reports arrive.

Thrrisur police will make inquiries with the doctors and others who had access to the victim during his last days.

Meanwhile it is being rumored that methyl alcohol a poisonous substance found in liquor) was found in Mani's body. The police will have to probe whether this was true after getting the post mortem report.
