Schools closed due to heavy rainfall, details

Heavy downpour has begun in Chennai and other cities of Tamil Nadu from last night. Keeping this in mind a lot of schools have been given holidays. Schools will not be functioning in Salem while the Cuddalore district collector has advised that each institution can take their own decision pertaining to this.

Thiruvarur and Pudukottai schools will be not functioning. However as per collector’s instructions the teachers of Thiruvarur will have to be working. Chennai too received good rainfall, especially areas like Besant Nagar, Marina, Royapettah, Anna Nagar and Teynampet. However one should note that any information regarding holidays in Chennai hasn’t been announced yet.
