Dr.Jayalalitha laid to rest aside her political mentors

Lakhs and Lakhs of Tamilains and ADMK Party cadres bid a tearful adieu to the six time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J.Jayalalitha who passed away on the night of December 5, 2016.

Jayalalitha's mortal remains was kept for public homage at Rajaji Bhavan the same place where her political mentor, former CM M.G.Ramachandran's mortal remains was kept in 1987.

Lakhs and Lakhs of people marched along with the Iron lady in her final journey, The Puratchi Thalaivi was buried in a space demarcated in the campus where MGR and Arignar Anna memorials are located.

Jayalalitha's nephew Deepak and her close aide Sasikala Natarajan performed the religious rituals before the burial. All ministers of the ADMK party, Tamil Nadu's Interim Governor Vidya Sakar Rao, Union Minister Venkaiyah Naidu and Pon Radhakrishnan of BJP also took part in the final rituals of one of the most admired woman leader of Indian politics.

The event was marked by the precious Military honor of 21 Guns Salute.

Earlier in the day Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukharjee visited Rajaji Bhavan and paid last homage for the departed leader.
