Dhruva Natchathirams tragic fate continues: GVM confirms the delay in release again

'Dhruva Natchathiram' is one of the most ambitious careers from ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon. He initially planned to do this script with Suriya back in 2013 before the actor opted out due to creative differences. Chiyaan Vikram onboarded the project in 2017 after GVM approached several actors.

Dhruva Natchathiram kicked off officially in 2017 with Chiyaan Vikram, Ritu Varma, and Vinayakan in the lead roles with Simran, Parthiban, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Divya Dharshini, Munna Simon, Vamsi Krishna, Salim Baig, Sathish Krishnan, Maya S Krishnan and others in supporting roles. The movie suffered in the production hell for more than 6 years.

GVM is also the producer of this film. Earlier this year, he cleared his financial troubles, completed the pending works of the film and made an official announcement that Dhruva Natchathiram will hit the screens on November 24. However, the release remained uncertain as Gautham himself admitted that he still had to pay off a big sum of money to get the film out.

While the release was slated today, the deal for Tamil Nadu theatrical rights wasn't finalised. Booking began overseas and in the rest of India but was soon stopped, refunded and the shows got rescheduled. The maker took to his social media page at late night to inform the fans that Dhruva Natchathiram couldn't be released today despite the team's best efforts.

GVM's statement says: "Sorry. Unable to get Dhruva Natchathiram to the screens today. We tried our best. But looks like we need a day or two more. Hoping to give everybody a good experience with advance bookings and proper screens everywhere around the world. The support for the film is heartwarming and has kept us going. Just a few more days and we'll arrive!" (sic)
