It is indeed true that the film has shattered box office records for the opening weekend collections in various parts of the globe including USA, UK, Australia and Malaysia.

To get exact details Indiaglitz spoke with a representative of Cine Galaxy, the leading overseas film distributor firm which has released 'Theri' in USA and Canada coming under the North American continent.

Cine Galaxy confirmed that the Atlee directed flick has collected $945,496 in USA and Canada in the first weekend between Thursday (April 14) and Monday (April 18).

Speaking further about the response for 'Theri' in North Amercia, Sanjay of Cine Galaxy said, "Great response from the movie lovers and Vijay fans across North America. They have made it a big Hit. By end of the first weekend and it has surpassed the blockbuster 'Kaththi'. Theri is Therrific and racing towards million dollars in 1st week and it's a record."
