Nivetha Pethuraj is in the news thanks to a controversial photo posted by her on her Instagram account. It pertains to a famous temple.

The actress was recently to Madurai with her friend when she captured a photo at the Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple premises. Besides this, she also clicked and posted on social media several other videos from the temple premises as well. This has turned out to be a controversy as there has been a ban on carrying mobiles inside the temple premises.

The ban on taking mobiles inside the Meenakashi Amman temple was implemented as a safety measure; the temple has a center to deposit the mobiles before entering inside, and Nivetha Pethuraj being allowed to carry mobile and also capture photographs has lead to displeasure among the general public.
