Director Keyar is back a brief hiatus with Dancer, which is about the story of a physically challenged youth, making it big by becoming a dancing sensation.

Keyar, thanks to his dancer, drives home a point that physical handicap is no handicap.

Though the story and screenplay are quite familiar, the splendid dance performance by debutante Kutty (physically challenged with only one leg) catches the attention.

Kutty, instead of lamenting over his handicap decides to do odd jobs to eke out a livelihood.

Divya (Kanika) is also a resident in the same building where Kuty lives. She aspires to become an actress and decided to undergo training in dancing and joins a dance school run by famed dance choreographer Arun (Robert).

One day, the dance master misbehaves with her. Agitated she walks out of the dancing class. Meanwhile, coming to know of Kutty's dancing prowess, she decides to encourage him and teach Arun a lesson and thereby avenge her insult.

The rest is all about the sincere efforts by Divya and Kutty in finding an avenue to express his dancing skills. A dance show by Kutty in a packed auditorium changes the course of his life. From then on Kutty's popularity soars and Arun's downfall begins.

Kutty walks away with all honors be it dancing, fighting or riding motorcycles with just one leg. Kanika has given her best in the movie as she has more scope to perform considering her previous films. Choreographer turned actor Robert fits the bill well.

Though Keyar has taken up a message in the movie, he seems to have made the movie interesting by adding commercial elements at right mix.

The film's shortcomings (there are quite a few including its preachy tone) are off-set by the essential nice approach and the larger good.
