Dear Comrade a remake of CIA? Find out here!

Ever since the Trailer for 'Dear Comrade' was out on Thursday, there have been speculations that the film is an unofficial remake of a Malayalam movie titled 'Comrade In America'. 'CIA' starred Dulquer Salman in the lead.

The Trailer for the Vijay Deverakonda movie has some uncanny similarities with that of 'CIA'. College backdrop, students subscribing to Communism (this aspect is not highlighted in DC's trailer, though), the male lead going on a journey with a purpose, and a love story (which is quite understated in 'CIA' trailer).

In 'CIA', the hero enters the US to get reunited with his lover. In the trailer for 'DC', Deverakonda's character does seem to be searching to reconnect with Lily (Rashmika Mandanna) after their love story falls apart. Does he travel to some other country for this? May or may not be.

Back in 2017, director Bharat Kamma made it clear that his film has nothing to do with 'CIA'. Mythri Movie Makers has made 'Dear Comrade' simultaneously in four languages, including Malayalam. Why would it do it in that language if it is the same story?
