Delhi based singer and performer Shivani Bhatia died in an accident on Tuesday after her car rammed into a divider on the Yamuna Expressway.

The incident happened on the morning of January 29 when Shivani (24), accompanied by her husband Nikhil Bhatia, was heading towards Agra to attend a function. Nikhil allegedly lost control of the car after he tried to overtake a high-speed car. “The car was completely damaged from the side where Shivani was sitting. The couple was rushed to a private hospital, but the Noida based singer took her last breath on Tuesday early morning,” a police officer reported. Nikhil apparently survived the accident.

Shivani Bhatia had participated in a popular Bhojpuri singing competition in 2016 and finished as the show’s runner-up.
