Do you have a postal stamp with you? Well, if you have one, just look at the white space behind. In that can be fitted the story of Dhairiyam.
Seenu (Nitin), the son of a municipality truck driver (Tanikella Bhaarani), falls in love with the rich Mallika (Raima Sen). Her father (Rehman) opposes the love. The latter conspires to put Seenu in jail. The latter however rises like a phoenix and wins everything in the end.
Snoring? Or worse, in a coma?
Just imagine what would have happened to those in the theater.
Dhairiyam is not a gutsy film. It is just foolhardy. It is unimaginable that how Teja thought that he can win over the audience with such an unimaginative story.
Had it not been the performance of Nitin, the film would have been an unmitigated disaster. Be it as a lark of a lover or as a tough-as-nails fighter, Nitin is spontaneous like a river on spate. Raima Sen looks good. Her performance could have been better. Rehman as a villain acquits himself well. Aishwarya as the hero's mother is also good. The rest have nothing much to do.
The music, by Anoop, is okay-dokay. The production values also pass muster. But what doesn't is the story and Teja's direction.
Simply, mindless and mundane.
