Actor Dhanush who had played dual roles as father and son in his last release, the revenge thriller Pattas directed by Durai Senthilkumar has next completed his yet to be titled 40th movie which is produced by Y Not Studios and Reliance Entertainment.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this movie will be a gangster thriller which will have Dhanush playing a character named Suruli, and will have him paired with Aishwarya Lekshmi. It has also been officially announced that D40 will be distributed in Tamil Nadu by Trident Arts.

The latest speculation making the rounds is that D40 will be releasing worldwide in Tamil and Telugu on May 1, and an official announcement is expected soon. The first look of D40 will be released on February 19, 5 PM. The movie also stars Joju George, James Cosmo and has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
