After the stupendous commercial and critical success of VIP` directed by Velraj, Dhanush retained the same crew for his next which still carries the title VIP2` though the team denies it is a sequel.

Now with the incomprehensible success of Maari` which has become a rage with the younger crowd rumor mills have started grinding that Dhanush is planning a quickie sequel to Maari` which will have more of punch dialogues and mass scenes that seem to delight his fans. The sources suggest that Balaji Mohan is ready to start the film immediately and could take off before Vada Chennai` directed by Vetrimaaran. Official confirmation is awaited on this one.
