Dileep's 'Ramaleela' a hit in spite of extreme controversy in his real life

Kerala is known for its people drawing a strong line between real life and reel life and seldom do they worship their reel heroes outside the cinema halls.  One more proof for this age old fact is the critical and commercial success of tarnished superstar Dileep's 'Ramaleela'.

'Ramaleela' also draws parallels to Dileep's real life as the protagonist in the film is also accused of murder and how he wriggles out of his predicament.  The much renowned actor who is known for his light hearted comedies has excelled in a serious role and the director Arun Gopi has kept the screenplay tight to make for an engaging film.
