Famous Tamil film director Ameer's mother Baatha Muthu Beevi passed away at the age of 85 at a private hospital in Madurai where she was admitted due to sudden illness. Her body was then shifted to the family residence in K.K. Nagar and the last rites will be held today July 13th.

It has come to light that Ammer along with his family members had embarked on the holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina on July 2nd and was scheduled to return home on the 16th. It is said that he has decided to cut short his holy tour and will be returning back at the earliest.

Ameer after a long gap only recently started directing his next film 'Iraivan Miga Periyavan' costarring Soori and Sathya and written by director Vetrimaaran and Thangam.
