'Oyee' could have been Sivakarthikeyan's first film with Ilaiyaraja

After 'Tharai Thappattai', the next Tamil film to hit the screens this year with Isaignani Ilaiyaraja's music is 'Oyee'. The film starring newcomers Geethan Britto and Eesha in lead roles is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (April 8 2016).

Now the film's director Francis Markus has revealed that Sivakarthikeyan was supposed to act in the lead role in the film. Speaking in a recent interview, Markus said that he narrated the script to Sivakarthikeyan who liked the script. The fast rising young star was eager to act in the film but he could not allocate dates due to prior commitments.

Only then Geethan was selected for the lead role. The debutant actor has trained in Silambattam for his role in the film as the story set in a rural backdrop has a strong connect with the sport of valor.

Markus has further stated that the film explore the beauty of father-son relationship and the heroine played by Eesha has a strong role to perform. Arjun Nandhakumar. Sangili Murugan. Nagineedu and Neelima Rani have played the important supporting characters in the film.

'Oyee' has been produced by Francis Britto under the Mark Studio.
