Emraan Hashmi, after being the main protagonist of blockbusters like ‘Jannat’ and ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’, is not very interested in doing supporting lead roles anymore. The hero has also decided that if he is to sign any film having multiple heroes, his role should have enough screen time and should not be secondary to the other actor.

Well good for Emraan!

This was the condition he laid down before signing on the dotted line for the ambitious project titled ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumabi’. The makers understood his point well and ensured him that his role in the film is as plum as the other leading man of the flick- Ajay Devgan.

Ajay Devgan is playing the role inspired from the life of the notorious smuggler of Mumbai during the 1970’s and 80’s- Haji Mastan, and Emraan gets to essay the character designed on the then young Dawood Ibrahim who worked with Haji Mastan before venturing out on his own.

Speaking to the scribes regarding his conditions, Emraan Hashmi said “I don’t do films for the love of anyone or to be just another name in the credits”. This film is going to be produced by Ekta Kapoor, and Milan Lutharia is going to call the shots.

The film, other than depicting the rise of the underworld in Mumbai, will also showcase on the life of a senior don Haji Mastan slowly giving away his power to the young and emerging Dawood.
