Fails To Engage Thoroughly!

Krish Jagarlamudi as a director came up with interesting films and created a niche audience for himself. But in recent years, he faced failures like never before. His comments on Manikarnika did get him National Attention as he talked about how his film and work were changed by Kangana Ranaut to have her name as director.

He decided to turn into a producer and his first feature film, Anthariksham failed to launch properly at box office. Similarly, his web-series, Masti's too has more issues that plagued it's launch into the skies. While some portions really had things that can connect us emotionally, others just walk into the story and then loose their relevance.

Pranav (Navdeep) gifts his wife, Gauri (Bindu Madhavi), a pub Masti's and they celebrate the opening night with all their friends. One young waiter (Chandini) falls for Pranav's charms and on the other hand, another woman (Akshara Gowda) along with her friend tries to trap Pranav. The story revolves around them and a singer (Hebah Patel) comes into the mix as she tries hard to land the gig at Masti's.

The story looses focus as it keeps drifting from one character to another without really getting to the core of the emotions that the character in focus, is facing. It floats on the surface than involving us deeply into situations and characters. On paper, it looks like a heavy material but in execution it fails to touch the heart strings as well as it should.

Ajay Bhuyan as the director has style and flair but when it comes to concentrating on the substance, he some how looses focus in some scenes. Not that every moment has to land or every scene needs to be good, the engaging and entertainment factor dips with each episode.

On the whole, the series feels like a tried and tested subject said in a very disengaging manner. But there are some positives like performance by Navdeep and masala factor.

Our Recommendation: Try it if you don't mind skipping ahead!
