Family disputes drive TV actress to suicide

Priyanka, a popular television actress from Tamil Nadu, has committed suicide in Chennai. The actress, who has done many serials and few movies, was found dead by her maid this morning at her Valasaravakkam residence.

She got married three years ago, only to develop severe differences with her husband Arunbala. They were living separately for some months.

Priyanka's death follows a long list of Tamil serial actors and actresses who have taken their own lives in recent years.

Psychologists are of the opinion that stress and depression are the main reasons coupled with the highly competitive nature of television field.
