Gautham Menon opens up on trolls slamming his short film

The short film 'Karthik Dial Seiytha Yenn' (Tamil), directed by Gautham Menon, was out recently. It has been touted as a small prequel to the proposed 'Vinnai Thaandi Varuvya-2' by commentators. The 2010 film, whose Telugu cousin is 'Ye Maya Chesave', had Simbu as Karthik and Trisha as Jessie. The entire duration of the short film, on the other hand, was a conversation between the two, ten years after they parted ways. Jessie is now in Kerala and is settled with her husband and two kids.

'Karthik Dial Seiytha Yenn' showed that Simbu's character is in a depressed state as he is unable to write his script and the coronavirus lockdown also bogs him down. He calls the one person who can revive him and Jessie, too, responds to him. When he says he needs her, she says that she loves him like his third child.

Meme creators have had a field day and conservative sections of audience feel that Gautham Menon is promoting illicit relationships.

IndiaGlitz got in touch with the intense filmmaker, who told us a lot of things. The director stated that the important thing is that Jessie and Karthick are in a space where they can have such a supportive conversation and when he says he needs her, it does not mean in any wrong way but as a pillar of support to revive him.

People have misunderstood Karthik telling Jessie that he wants to live under her feet. He is not saying it in the sense that he wants to lick her feet, but that he wants to be under her shadow where he feels safe.
