The shooting for Mayavi, the home production of director Bala starring Surya in the lead role is on at a brisk pace. The movie is being shot in and around Mahabalipuram.

A humorous entertainer, the movie has Surya playing the role of a tour guide who takes visitors around the architectural temples of the Mahabalipuram. Jothika plays his ladylove.
