In a horrifying incident, a stray dog was found ingesting the body of a newborn baby girl in the Vasna area of Ahmedabad district in Gujarat.

A 50-year-old daily wage worker, identified as Nani Dantania, a resident of Sorainagar in Vasna, allegedly caught a foul smell emanating from outside her house. When she went out to check, she reportedly found stray dogs eating the body of what was later determined to be a newborn baby girl. The woman immediately went to the police to file a complaint. The police apparently suspect that the parents of the newborn must have dumped the already dead premature baby without following proper procedure.

The police have, however, registered an FIR and are currently investigating the matter.
