Director P Vasu is in double joy. Not only has completed his Rajnikanth Chandramukhi but also his 50th film in the film industry.

"It all began in 1978 when I joined veteran director Sridhar as his assistant. In the 27 years, I have successfully completed 50 films which includes many silver jubilee films".

On Chandramukhi, he says, "the movie has come out good. All the distributors, technicians are happy. Rajnikanth too expressed his happiness. I am thrilled and awaiting to see it with film-buffs in theatres".

When asked what next, Vasu said, "my last Kannada movie Aapthamithra released last year has been running successfully even now. The movie has shattered all box office record there.

I had a lot of offers coming my way there. However I could not take them since I was busy with Chandramukhi. Now, probably my next would be in Kannada which would star Vishnuvardhan".

Vasu, looking back on his long career, has, however, one misgiving. "I had a couple of opportunities to direct Kamal Haasan, but unfortunately I missed them by a whisker. Hope I get an opportunity soon".
