A rift has emerged between director Harish Shankar and seasoned cinematographer Chota K Naidu, sparked by recent comments made by Naidu during an interview regarding their collaboration on the film "Ramayya Vastavayya" ten years ago. Here's a closer look at the situation:

In the interview, the cinematographer Chota K Naidu voiced his discontent with Harish Shankar's involvement during the filming of "Ramayya Vastavayya," alleging that the director interfered with his work despite his attempts to dissuade him.

Reacting strongly to Naidu's remarks, Harish Shankar penned an impassioned open letter. He emphasized that he had refrained from making negative comments about Naidu in any of his interviews, despite considering replacing him during the film's production. Shankar expressed feeling hurt by Naidu's statements and questioned his own sense of dignity in the wake of the criticism. He posted “For my dear Chota K Naidu, It has been a decade since Ramayya Vastavayya was released. You have given ten interviews in this span and I gave over hundred interviews. I never discussed about you in any of my interviews. But you have insulted me in your interviews. There was a situation and discussion about your replacement. But I completed my film with you. Though Ramayya Vastavayya did not live up to the expectations, I never blamed you or your work. I was hurt with your words and I am writing this letter after my friends questioned my self respect. I request you to leave this matter here. Else, I am ready for an open debate on any platform”

The public disagreement could strain the professional relationship between Harish Shankar and Chota K Naidu, potentially impacting their ability to collaborate on future projects. The clash might influence how other filmmakers perceive both individuals, potentially affecting their prospects for future collaborations within the industry. The open letter and the prospect of a public debate could draw significant media attention and public scrutiny, potentially affecting the reputations of both Harish Shankar and Chota K Naidu.

The outcome of this situation remains uncertain. Whether Chota K Naidu responds to Harish Shankar's letter or if an open debate materializes, the disagreement has shed light on lingering tensions from their past collaboration. This incident also highlights the complexities of creative partnerships within the film industry and the challenges of managing differences in vision and approach.
