Video: Woman physically abuses 80-year-old mother-in-law, arrested

The video of a woman grabbing her 80-year-old mother-in-law by the hair and thrashing her has surfaced online and went viral after Haryana’s CM Manohar Lal Khattar quoted the video on Twitter.
The video was filmed and shared on several social media platforms by a neighbour. The brutal clip shows a woman from Haryana's Mahendragarh district grabbing her defenseless 80-year-old mother-in-law by the hair and assaulting her. Several people expressed their anger on the same while the CM of the state quoted, “This is deplorable and condemnable, such behavior should not be tolerated in a civilized society. A case has been registered and the accused has been arrested.” The woman who captured the video in her phone stated, “The woman was abusing and beating her old mother-in-law from quite some time. I did not know what to do, then decided to shoot it. I wasn't afraid as what she did was wrong.”
The Haryana police have arrested and booked the woman under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC. “We asked the victim and she told us that she was beaten up by her daughter-in-law. We have seen the video which shows the brutal act. The medical examination of the woman has also been conducted and we are waiting for its report,” an official investigating the case said.
