In an interview to a widely-circulated Tamil weekly, superstar Mahesh Babu has been quoted as saying that 'Spyder' is like a 'Thuppakki' and a 'Ghajini'. He suggested that it's temperamentally as intense as these films.

While he said that he is close Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, he didn't appreciate the online skirmishes among fans over BO records.

Mahesh described Kollywood behemoth Vijay as a friend. While Mani Ratnam is not in form for the rest of the world, the superstar feels sorry that he didn't get to act in his direction as the project was wound up due to unavoidable reasons.

He affirmed that politics didn't interest him, something he has always been saying.
