There were rumours about the health condition of Athmiya, who acted opposite Sivakarthikeyan in one of his earlier heroic ventures 'Manam Kothi Paravai'.

Clearing the air, she says, "I am very much active and alive. I was surprised to know about the rumours being spread about me. I am presently in Kannur and acting in two films, including an art movie in Malayalam."

Athmiya says further she took a break from acting since she was doing a nursing course. "It is over now and I will focus on cinema," says the actress, who was also part of a Tamil film titled 'Pongadi Neengalum Unga Kadhalum'.
