A tastefully made film with good support from artists, music, cinematography `I am sorry Mathe Banni Pritsona' has been a long felt respite for Kannada cinema. A debutant working precisely on all the departments is appreciable. HP Ravindra making a tight screenplay, adding good dialogues from Guruprasad, taking good acting from Premkumar, Karishma Tanna and Sanjaana, sitting on lovely tunes with Anoop Seelin, getting fabulous support from cameraman Ashok Kashyap, facing controversies on the lip lock scenes (that is not there in the cinema) has come out victorious in the first attempt.
Firstly this director is intelligent and shrewd. He knows the type of films coming in Kannada and what to approach in his debut. There is a style for this film I am Sorry..Mathe Banni Pritsona. The contents handled via characters are applicable in rural and applicable. He has made is glamorous. That is of course the need of these days of `Screenplay' cinemas.
From first sight to last sight Shyam (Premkumar) in his life with Chetana (Karishma Tanna) undergoes an oscillation. The analysis he makes in his mind is what every husband would do when precarious things strikes concerning the spouse.
Shyam without studying any details about Chetana marries her and leading a comfortable a life. Accidentally he meets Sinchna (Sanjaana) who is a high tech brothel business woman. Upset for meeting such a kind of personality Shyam insults her and at the same time takes a challenge from Sinchana. With this Shyam has to take Geetha. He should prove his loyalty staying with Geetha. In case Shyam wins his challenge the huge property in the name of Sinchana would go to orphan house and she would give up her brothel business.
Meeting Geetha there is some problem. She is a married woman loving her husband extremely well yet out of circumstances she is forced to accompany the rich class citizens in satiating their sexual needs.
When Geetha and Shyam meeting fails for quite a few occasion the clues leading to it points to the audience that Geetha is nothing but his own wife Chetana with change of name.
The efficiency of director is studied at this point of time. He makes the audience to believe something and also make them to go wrong in their decisions.When Shyam learns that Geetha is met with an accident and injured on right knee he is in for a big shock because back home he finds his wife Chetana with similar accident. The humble and happy husband hires a detective to know about the fidelity of his wife. Shyam finds it nothing wrong from Chetana side. At this time Chetana on the anniversary of marriage day calls for an important meeting with her husband.
Now the audiences feel there are some revelations. That is related to the Brain Tumor in advanced stage of Chetana. That is the reason she had declined giving birth to a child too. Chetana dies because of the disease but before that Shyam admits how he doubted her in life.
What about Geetha who is missing in the eyes of the audiences? Sinchana declares that Geetha is dead to Shyam over telephone and burns the only clue of photograph with her.
There is perfect blending of Premkumar and Karishma Tanna roles. They look like `Made for Each other couple' on screen. Karishma Tanna is a little taller than Premkumar. She has bombarded in this film with high degree of skill. Premkumar has turned out good in every scene he has performed. Sanjaana has much of talking and her expressions are quite OK. Tabla Naani as `Sootradara' explaining the life of Shyam, Chetana and Sinchana is impressive.
Well thought wordings from dialogue writer Guruprasad (director of Mata and Eddelu Manjunatha) another high point of this film. Anoop Seelin four songs are in high standards. The singing is good, lyrics are timely and it is well brought out visually too.
The `Daada' behind camera Ashok Kashyap gives the perfect mood to the film via lighting. The selection of grand locations is an additional boon. In the song Onchuru Kotbide..his camera is magnificent.
A film worth a dekko!
