The Collection King, who was known for huge box-office hits like 'Peda Rayudu' in the 1990s, said that he made it a point to remove the 'Caste' column in the application form at his educational institution in Tirupathi. "The column doesn't make sense. I didn't want any student to be shown favour by a teacher belonging to his or her caste. I am the first person in India to think of such a thing. The thought came to me because I was removed from a job in my early days only because of my caste. I don't believe in a caste-based superiority complex," Mohan Babu added.

He recalled that the first prospectus of his educational institution was released by Tamil acting legend Sivaji Ganesan, who handed it over to Megastar Chiranjeevi at an event.

In the interview, Mohan Babu also suggested that he abandoned his birth name Bakthavathsala Chowdhary and adopted the screen name Mohan Babu because he didn't want to make his caste identity obvious.
