'Though my directorial skills are hailed, I want to establish myself as a successful actor', says director-turned-actor S J Suryah.

Currently busy shooting for ‘Newtonin Moonram Vidhi’, Suryah, says, “Initially I thought I am not hero material. Hence I learnt the nuances of film-making and made my mark as a director. Then I made the transition as a producer quite successfully. After eight years of struggles, I managed to bring out the actor in me. Stardom has not come overnight”.

'I am now exploring different roles. I don't want myself to be branded as an actor, who does glamorous themes. ‘Newtonin Moonram Vidhi’ features me in a new role. Former Miss India Sayali Bhagat plays my heroine. It is a movie that will take me to new heights', says a confident Suryah.

He has commenced his Telugu directorial venture ‘Puli’ starring Pawan Kalyan. “I would play the lead role in the Tamil version”, adds Suryah.
