As we had reported earlier, top heroine Trisha became the victim of harsh attack by miscreants claiming to be Jallikattu supporters on Friday. A group of men claiming to be pro-Jallikattu activists tried to lay siege to the shooting spot of 'Garjanai' which has Trisha playing the lead role.

Later the actor was safely taken back with the timely intervention of police personnel. The shooting was also eventually called off.

Meanwhile Trisha was also severely abused and harassed in social media by miscreants.

Today Trisha has lambasted the attackers for abusing a woman and her family in the name of upholding Tamil culture. "Disrespecting a woman and her family is tamil culture? You should be ashamed to call urself a Tamilian or even speak about Tamil culture." the petite actor asked in her Tweet.

The 'Mankatha' actor clarified that she has never ever spoken against Jallaikattu.

Trisha has also thanked the Police personnel and her film crew for protecting her and ensuring that she reached home safely. She has also thanked her long time friend and 'Vinnai Thandi Varuvaaya' co-star Silambarasan for speaking up for her.
