‘Inga Naan Thaan Kingu’ Movie Review: Santhanam's Comic Timing Shines in This Action-Packed Comedy

Santhanam is now back in theaters with his latest, "Inga Naan Thaan Kingu," an action-comedy written by Ezhichur Aravindan and helmed by Anand Narayan for the banner Gopuram Films. The film has newcomer Priyalaya paired with Santhanam and supported by Thambi Ramaiah, Vivek Prasanna, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Swaminathan, Cool Suresh, Lollu Sabha Seshu, and Manobala. The film's director, Anand Narayan, has also penned the script, and the music is being composed by

Santhanam's portrayal of Vetri, a bachelor who works in a matrimonial office, drives the plot. Believing that it is very important for a suitor to have their own house, he, an orphan, took out a loan of Rs 25 lakh to buy an apartment and hopes to repay the dowry from his future wife. During the search, a wedding broker fixes him up with a match from the wealthy zamindar's family, given three conditions: he should have a house of his own, be an orphan, and live with the zamindar's family. The proposal sounds right, and Vetri marries the girl, but unexpected twists drive the story forward.

Santhanam lives up to the slang. Well, this film does not boast of any logic; it's just for entertainment. Anand Narayanan skillfully directs the story by Ezhichur Aravindan, peppering it with numerous cinematic references and one-liners. Thambi Ramaiah adds a lot of comic relief with his exaggeration and cartoonish performance.

While some of Bala Saravanan's jokes don't seem to hit very well, his comic timing works well in a few places. Newcomer Priyalaya plays her part decently, and so does Vivek Prasanna; it is Seshu, Swaminathan, Maran, Munishkanth, and Vivek Prasanna who form the main supporting actors, doing their parts to ensure it is lively.

On the other hand, this film suffers from some flaws. The value of certain scenes is nil, and there is a sudden twist in the plot during the climax. Predictable twists and low emotional content make the viewer feel less excited to watch the film. The background score by D. Immman lifts the entire film, but the songs are a major letdown.

'Inga Naan Thaan Kingu' in parts reminds us of 'DD Returns,' and 'Vadakapatti Ramasamy.' While some might be absolutely okay with the comedy, for others, it would be just another average comedy. In general, this is an average film worth watching.

verdict: "Inga Naan Thaan Kingu" is a hilarious action-comedy where Santhanam's comic brilliance and unexpected twists keep you entertained throughout.
