Never before has a dubbed film so much generated hear and curiosity in Tollywood.

But Aparichithudu is no ordinary film. It has portents to become one of the all-time great commercial entertainers. The film that has been in the making of nearly a year and Vikram concentrated on this to the point of distraction.

For nearly a year, he kept himself in aloof and stayed indoors just to keep his special looks for the film secret.

And this is the kind of commitment and response that Shankar commands. Now, Shankar is no ordinary film director. Grandeur and larger-than-life cinema is a way a of life for him.

If Manirathinam brought in style idioms to our filmmaking, it is Shankar who has brought technology and impossible Hollywood-style mounting to our movies. Almost all his movies (Indian, Jeans, Boys have been technological marvels).

Aparichithudu seems no exception as (going by the promos) there are mind-blowing and sensational stunt sequences and song situations.

In the event, the trade is just too excited about the film here and abroad.

Lakshmi Ganapathy has brought the Film's Telugu version here while the prestigious Gemini Film Circuit has bought the world-wide film rights.

"The expectation on this film is amazing," says a local distributor. Even we are not privy to many details in the films, the distributors says referring to Shankar's penchant to keep things under the wraps till the film is released.

The songs, set to tune by Harris Jeyaraj, have kindled the hopes too.

So it all looks like that Aparichithudu is set to make history.
