Like every actress Jomol also left film industry after her marriage. Hers was a controversial marriage in those days, as she married a person whom she got to know through web chatting. The actress had some issues with her parents also regarding her earnings from film which she said that her parents had took away.
Jomol got married to Chandrasekhar an engineer from Mumbai. She got converted to Hinduism and took the name Gowri.
The last film of Jomol was Priyadarshan`s Rakkilipattu which was released in 2000. She has acted in around 20 films and one Television serial till now.
Now the actress is making a comeback to films. It is reported that her second debut is through the film of director V. K. Prakash titled Colorful`.
The film is touted as an investigative-suspense-thrilled which has actor Vijaybabu in the lead. Another actress is also there playing a prominent role that is Kuchipudi dancer Sandhya Raj.
