Movie buffs of current generation may not have watched the Malayalam films of Kamal Haasan that released in late 1970s and early 1980s. Kamal was one of the leading young heroes in Malluwood at that time with a considerable number of classic Malayalam films to his credit. After that perhaps because of his tight schedule in Tamil the veteran actor did not act in direct Malayalam films.

Now the time seems to have come up for a grand reentry of Kamal in Malayalam. The 'Ulaganayagan' has apparently conveyed to 'Papanasam' director Jeetu Joseph,about his interest to star in a movie written by Bobby and Sanjay, the duo emerging as leading writers in Malluwood.

Bobby and Sanjay have confirmed this to the press. "Yes its true that Kamal sir has asked us to pen a script for him and the film may start once we get the right story. The legendary actor has assured that availability of his dates will not be an issue. We however dont want to rush in and do a story just for adding a Kamal film to our credit. We will wait for the right story that will warrant the reentry of Kamal in Malayalam."

Kamal is currently acting in 'Thoongavanam' directed by his erstwhile assistant M.Rajesh. He also has a straight Bollywood project with Saif Ali Khan in his kitty.
