Here is a case of reversal… At a time when more and more South Indian films are being remade in Bollywood, here’s a Hindi film that is planned to be remade in Telugu.

The movie in question is the critically-acclaimed ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ which launched Neil Nitin Mukesh in B-town and it starred veteran Dharmendra along with Rimi Sen, Vinay Pathak, Zakir Hussain, Ashwini Khalsekar and Dayanand Shetty.

‘Johnny Gaddaar’, which released in 2007, is directed by south filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. Apparently, the talented director chose to make it in Hindi then, and not in Tamil/Telugu, for he felt that the film’s genre (crime thriller noir) was thought to be ahead of the times for south audience.

Now the Telugu version of ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ will have debutante Krishi Arimanda, ‘Lagaan’ fame Gracy Singh, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sai Kumar, Brahmaji, Roja, Ravi Babu and others.
