Actress Jyothika, who had last acted in Thambi directed by Jeethu Joseph, will be seen next in the movie Ponmagal Vandhal, directed by debutant JJ Frederick, and produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. The team had recently released the first and second look posters of the movie.

While it was planned earlier the the audio launch of Ponmagal Vandhal will be held in Chennai in a grand event, it has been announced now that the team has cancelled the event due to Coronavirus outbreak. The audio will be launched online.

Ponmagal Vandhal has Jyothika playing a lawyer, and the movie also stars Parthiban, K Bhagyaraj, Pandiarajan, Prathap Pothen, Thiagarajan, and has music by Govind Vasantha. Ponmagal Vandhaal team had announced earlier that the movie will release on March 27.
