Actor Suriya was last seen in the political entertainer NGK directed by Selvaraghavan and the movie costarring Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures had opened to mixed reviews.

Suriya will be seen next in Kaappaan directed by KV Anand with whom this is his third movie after the blockbuster Ayan and Maattrraan and this movie is produced by Lyca Productions. The movie is planned as August 30 release.

Kaappaan's villain Chirag Jani had met with an accident during the shoot of his debut Gujarati movie G, and has now recovered and is all set to join shooting of Kaappaan and the actor himself shared the information on his social media handle. Kaappaan's next schedule is set to begin this month end.
