Actor Kamal Haasan's elder brother and noted film producer Chandra Haasan (82) has passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The sad demise happened when he was staying at his daughter Anu Haasan;s home at London.

The Haasan brothers consist of Charu Haasan, Chandra Haasan and Kamal Haasan. Born to Parthasarathy and Rajalakshmi in Paramakudi, Chandra Haasan and Kamal Haasan are the proprietary partners of Raj Kamal Films International which has produced many films.

Unlike his two brothers, Chandra Haasan perhaps was not so interested in donning the greasepaint. However, his daughter Anu Haasan has acted in quite a few popular films such as 'Indra', 'Aalvandhan', 'Run' and many other films.

It was only in January that Chandra Haasan's wife Geethamani breathed her last.
