Navarasa Nayagan Karthik is one of the most loved heroes of Tamil cinema of all times. Though his peak was during the eighties and nineties he still has a large fanfollowing and fans cant have enough of him. Karthik in his career has costarred with most of the topstars including Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Arjun, Sarathkumar, Ajith and most recently Dhanush in 'Anegan'.

One hero that Karthik has never shared screen space with is Kamal Haasan and most would love to watch them in the same frame. The hot news now is that director Shankar is in talks to sign Karthik for an important role in 'Indian 2' that has Kamal in the lead.

According to sources Karthik will be replacing Vivek who played a major character in 'Indian 2' but passed away after shooting several sequences. Similarly Guru Somasaundaram is likely to replace Nedumudi Venu who reprised his role from the original 'Indian' released in 1996 but also passed away.

It is also said that Kajal Aggarwal who initially walked out of the long delayed project due to marriage and childbirth is set to return as well. The shooting is planned to resume from September 13th onwards and all the pending updates will be made official.

'Indian 2' is produced by Lyca Productions with Anirudh scoring the music and Ravi Varman handling the camera. The ensemble cast includes Kamal Haasan, Karthik, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, Manobala and Samuthirakani.
